You will need the items listed below. Pack them in a 5 gallon bucket (with the exception of your sleeping bag and pad). Mark clearly your bucket, sleeping bag, pad and all items you bring with your name.
- One 5 gallon bucket with lid
- Warm sleeping bag (it gets plenty nippy in the mountains)
- pack the following together in a garbage bag marked with your name
- sleeping bag, warm coat, foam pad
- 1 mat or foam pad (packed with sleeping bag)
- Warm coat (packed with sleeping bag)
- Pillow
- 2 large garbage bags
- Individual water bottle
- Heavy Jacket or sweatshirt
- 1 rain jacket or poncho (a large garbage bag with arm and head holes will work)
- 1 pair of hiking shoes or boots (these should be well worn in, new ones will give you blisters. Sturdy trail running shoes will work if you don't have hiking boots)
- 1 pair of shoes that can get wet (for the river crossing)
- 4-6 pair of sturdy socks (to prevent blisters it is best to wear a thin inner sock and a sturdy outer sock, best not to have cotton socks)
- 2 sets of underclothing
- Sleeping clothes (something warm like sweats or flannel pants and shirt)
- 1 pair of work-type leather gloves
- 1 bandana (will be given you according to the color of your trek family)
- Flashlight and batteries
- Pencil or pen to write in your journal
- Old Book of Mormon or Triple (don't bring good scriptures)
- Personal hygiene items (place these in a ziploc bag): toothbrush, small tube of toothpaste, comb or brush, deodorant, small hand towel

- Men should bring:
- 2 pair of pants (Khakis, Docker style, or cargo type pants work well, No Levis)
- 2 long sleeved shirts (cotton button down)
- 1 western style hat (inexpensive straw hats work well -- no baseball or army hats)
- Women should bring:
- 2 mid-calf length skirts with 2 button down blouses or 2 long sleeved, mid calf length dresses (no t-shirts)
- 1-2 pioneer bonnet(s)
